Arsenal announce ticket price increase
We are disappointed by today’s announcement by Arsenal that they are increasing general ticket prices for the 2011-12 season by 6.5% (including the 2.5% government increase in VAT). Inevitably this means that some loyal and long-standing supporters will be forced to give up their tickets, as they will not be able to afford the new prices.
We are encouraged that Arsenal have agreed to look at the package of proposals that we put forward earlier in the season, and AISA will especially recommend to Arsenal that they allow season-ticket payments to be made by installments, rather than insisting that the full amount is paid by 1st June.
We also strongly believe that fans who have held their season-ticket for five years or more should be allowed to become silver members (which allows match-by-match ticket purchase).
AISA will be raising these issues at our next meeting with Arsenal chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, later this month.
